Galt High School FFA Agriculture students met with AIC Director Dan Sumner and Hanbin Lee, a UC Davis graduate student in Agricultural economics, for a discussion of the effects of new over-time wage regulations in California.
Sumner reviewed the situation and outlook for the economics of hired farm labor relevant to the tree crop industries in California. He presented recent trends and discussion of current policy issues such as immigration, minimum wages and overtime rules.
In 2016, the Galt FFA Ag Issues team also visited AIC and that year they won the national title at the National FFA Convention for their presentation at that event. see video here
