Economic Effects of Proposed Restrictions on
Egg-laying Hen Housing in California
 

A ballot initiative in California that would place restrictions on the housing of commercial egg-laying hens is scheduled for the fall 2008 election.

This study has considered the economic implications of regulations that would eliminate the use of cage housing systems for egg production in California.
