AIC Director Daniel Sumner presented analysis on the impacts of current trade turmoil for world, U.S., and California agriculture to 150 agribusiness leaders at the Kansas City Federal Reserve Bank.

Sumner documented some of the major losses to farms and the economy from new U.S. tariffs on imports and the retaliatory tariffs facing U.S. farm exports and highlight the value of immediate shift to another way to deal with legitimate U.S. concerns. He emphasized the  importance of using institutions such as the World Trade Organization to deal with trade disputes.
